To our community,
It is a period of time in our history that is bringing great uncertainty to us all. We have seen a period of need for swift recognition of the COVID-19 Pandemic threat, and a need for great adjustment to the way in which we live and operate within our society.
Now that the rate of change has slowed, as we come to terms with the impact on our lives, and as we learn to adapt to the new normal as it currently stands, I want to take the opportunity to reach out and provide an update on Ascent’s response to COVID-19.
Ascent Rehabilitation remains open and operational, and is continuing to adapt to the current climate with the same desire to provide the high level of service provision you have come to know and expect from us. Following the Government guidelines that those who can work from home should do so, the majority of our team have transitioned to a working from home arrangement. At present myself and Business Manager, Bronwen Stead, continue to operate from our Office Space. We are all utilising new methods of communication to ensure that we remain connected with our clients and customers, which include increased telecommunication and video conferencing modalities; this is in lieu of our preferred in person meetings. When it is imperative that meetings are conducted in person, we strictly adhere to physical distancing and hygiene practices. We will continue to adapt and align to the Government issued guidance as it is presented to us. We thank our community for their support and adaptability during this time as we collaborate and explore new ways of connecting and working.
I want to take this opportunity to recognise the severity of the impact that the COVID-19 Pandemic is having on all areas of our community. We are all having to adjust in varying ways, which may include changing roles and expectations of each other and ourselves. We recognise that for many, the opportunity to work has been taken away from them, and that for others it has required significant and unexpected changes, both having potentially significant social and economic consequence. What we are hearing, seeing and feeling right now is grief. We are in this with you and we are here for you.
For our current customers and clients, to help you in this crisis, you can expect that Ascent will be in regular contact with you to help achieve the same outcomes of recovery and return of function. However, we acknowledge and recognise that you may or may not be able to return to your pre-COVID-19 roles and occupations. Thus, we will be discussing and exploring opportunities with you. While we are maintaining physical distancing, we are ensuring that our social connectedness is stronger than ever. To achieve this, you can expect we will be in regular contact to plan, problem solve and execute with you. We will find alternate ways to communicate until such time we can regularly meet in person again.
While we do not wish to diminish the impact of COVID-19, we endeavour to focus our attention on sources of hope and optimism. In addition to the direct support provided to our current clients and customers, we will be developing and sharing resources to our broader community to support you to adjust, adapt and find new ways of interpreting this journey are taking together.
Please feel free to reach out if we can be of further assistance to you in this time.
