How we support your workplace
Workplace Assessments
We analyse your injured employee's pre-injury duties to identify which tasks they can safely perform during recovery. This functional, workplace-based approach:
- Minimises disruption to productivity
- Keeps employees engaged in their role
- Maintains team continuity
- Provides clear, evidence-based recommendations

Return to work planning and coordination
We develop detailed return to work plans that work for everyone: your employee, your business and your insurer. Our plans outline suitable duties, graduated hours, workplace modifications and clear responsibilities for all parties. The result? Safe, sustainable return to work outcomes that reduce claim duration and support your employee's long-term success.
Care team coordination
Your injured employee's recovery involves multiple parties: medical providers, insurers and your workplace. We bring everyone together, facilitating regular communication and ensuring all stakeholders work toward the same goals. This collaborative approach, what we call the Ascent Way, achieves better outcomes at lower cost and duration.

Why employers choose Ascent

We keep you informed throughout the rehabilitation process. Our consultants are accessible when you need them, providing regular updates and proactive problem-solving. No delays or surprises, just consistent, professional communication you can rely on.
Our rehabilitation services for employers
Initial Needs Assessments
An assessment to understand your employee's concerns, needs, goals and current circumstances for recovery. An Initial Needs Assessment helps us establish a holistic approach early in the rehabilitation process, so the plan is tailored to their individual situation.
Workplace Assessments
A workplace assessment is an important part of the return to work process. We assess and analyse your employee's pre-injury duties to identify which specific tasks are suitable for them to perform during their recovery.
Early identification of suitable duties allows us to develop a functional, workplace-based rehabilitation programme that keeps employees engaged in their usual tasks and routines.
Ergonomic Assessments
We provide ergonomic assessments for your workplace. We assess your employee's workstation comprehensively, taking into account their daily job requirements and any current concerns or pre-existing issues.
We provide a detailed report that includes medical and ergonomic advice for all parties.
Return to work programs
A return to work plan outlines your employee's recovery goals, medical restrictions, suitable duties, hours and any special requirements. Developing a good plan requires a workplace assessment and collaboration with medical and treatment providers to ensure all restrictions are considered and activities are safe and sustainable.
Functional Capacity Evaluations
Objective assessment of physical abilities to inform medical decisions and return to work planning.
Vocational Assessments
A vocational assessment helps establish your employee's redeployment options outside their usual work role. We use a range of written and verbal assessments to determine employability in other areas, and identify any opportunities for retraining that would improve their suitability to new roles.
Training
We deliver training on injury management, return to work and workplace wellbeing topics tailored to your workplace. Our team brings clinical expertise and practical experience supporting employers across diverse industries.
Training can be delivered in person or online and includes manual handling, ergonomics, mental health awareness, supporting an injured worker through return to work and early intervention. We can also develop bespoke training programmes for your specific workplace needs.
Medical and workplace case conferences
We facilitate meetings between all parties to discuss progress, address concerns and ensure everyone works toward shared goals.
